About Bethany Grace —
Founder of Boundaries & Burnout

Hi, I’m Bethany —
A writer, mother, and cycle-breaker who spent years surviving inside pressure, silence, burnout, and self-protection… before I ever had the words to name any of it.
Boundaries & Burnout was born from the slow, unglamorous work of rebuilding a life after years spent in survival mode — inside toxic environments, generational patterns, grief, and emotional exhaustion.
This space is not built from theory or abstraction.
It was built one breath at a time,
one journal page at a time,
one reckoning at a time.
Why I created this space
For most of my life, I carried heavy stories quietly — the kind you learn to live around. The kind you minimize, excuse, normalize, or swallow because speaking them out loud feels dangerous… or disloyal… or too much.
Burnout doesn’t always look like collapse.
Sometimes it looks like:
showing up,
over-functioning,
shrinking your needs,
and calling it strength.
Boundaries don’t always begin with courage.
Sometimes they begin with grief.
This site exists for the people who have lived inside those rooms — the silent ones, the pressurized ones, the resilient ones — and are finally ready to name what those spaces have asked them to carry.
What you’ll find here
Boundaries & Burnout is a story-driven healing project made of:
reflections on resilience, grief, pressure, silence, and recovery
music written from lived experience
long-form essays and personal processing
companion journal work
shared narratives about survival and rebuilding
Some of the work here is heavy.
Some of it is tender.
All of it is honest.
You will never be asked to perform your pain to belong here.
My creative values
This space is built on:
Integrity in storytelling — real experiences, never dramatized for effect
Respect for lived trauma — no voyeurism, no exploitation
Slow healing — no productivity pressure, no “fix yourself” tone
Consent in narrative — I don’t publish others’ stories without care, distance, or framing
Compassion for the parts of us that had to survive
The “Hall of Doors” is not about labeling people as wounds.
It’s about acknowledging the inner landscapes we learned to live inside
— and walking through them with language, support, and gentleness.
Here, no one opens a door alone.
If you’re here…
You may be tired.
You may be grieving the version of yourself that had to endure.
You may be learning boundaries for the first time as an adult.
You may be unlearning loyalty to people who harmed you.
You may be trying to rebuild a life from the ashes of burnout.
You’re not broken.
You’re not dramatic.
You’re not late to healing.
You’re simply arriving somewhere safer.
And I’m honored you’re here.
